<br />RIO GRANDE COMPACT COMMISSION REPORT <br /> <br />RIO GRANDE COMPACT COMMISSION <br />COLORADO TEXAS NEW MEXICO <br /> <br />March 31, 2005 <br /> <br />The Honorable Bill Richardson <br />Governor of the State of New Mexico <br />Santa Fe, New Mexico <br /> <br />The Honorable Rick Perry <br />Governor of the State of Texas <br />Austin, Texas <br /> <br />The Honorable Bill Owens <br />GovernmoftheStateofCmorado <br />Denver, Colorado <br /> <br />Honorable Governors: <br /> <br />The 66th Annual Meeting of the Rio Grande Compact Commission was held in Santa Fe, New. <br />Mexico on March 31, 2005. <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed its prior reports and the current reports of the Secretary and the <br />Engineer Advisers relative to streamflow at Compact gaging stations and storage in reservoirs in <br />2004. The Commission found that: <br /> <br />(a) Deliveries of water at the Colorado-New Mexico state line by Colorado amounted to 226,200 <br />acre-feet in 2004 and the scheduled delivery for the year was 221,800 acre-feet. <br />(b) Deliveries of water into Elephant Butte Reservoir by New Mexico, as measured by the <br />Elephant Butte Effective Supply, amounted to 407,000 acre-feet in 2004 and the scheduled <br />delivery for the year was 371,500 acre-feet. <br />(c) The actual release of usable water from Project Storage was 400,500 acre-feet. <br />(d) New Mexico relinquished 53,000 acre-feet of credit water to Texas on March 1,2004. <br />(e) Colorado relinquished 1,150 acre-feet of credit water to Texas on March 31, 2004. <br /> <br />The Commission agreed to the accounting of accrued credits for 2004, as follows: <br /> <br />(1) The Commissioners found that the accrued credit for deliveries by Colorado at the <br />Colorado-New Mexico State Line was 4,400 acre-feet on January 1, 2005. <br />(2) The Commissioners found that the accrued credit for deliveries by New Mexico at Elephant <br />Butte Dam was 35,600 acre-feet on January 1,2005. <br />(3) The Commissioners found that the accrued departure from normal release from Project <br />Storage as of January 1, 2005 was a credit of 365,500 acre-feet. <br />
