<br />in precipitation, reporting a total percent of average for all the stations of just 82 percent. <br />Temperatures for the month were varied, with no extreme highs or lows. July brought a peculiar <br />rainfall pattern to the region. Rainfall was not as evenly distributed as in previous months. On the <br />western slope, the percent of average varied from 55 percent for the Green Mountain watershed, to <br />130 percent for the Lake Granby and Willow Creek watersheds. The eastern slope experience the <br />same pattern, with the Lake Estes and St. Vrain watersheds reporting 68 percent of average, while <br />the Poudre watershed reported 212 percent. Temperatures, in general, were varied during July. On <br />July 2, several minimum temperature records were established across the state, including Denver, <br />which reported a low of 440F, breaking the old record of 450F in 1872. <br /> <br />Rainfall on the Project during August was higher than normal, at 178 percent of average for the <br />contributing area along the Project. Temperatures during the month were varied, generally <br />confined to the range between minimum and maximum averages. <br /> <br />September also brought wet conditions to the Project region, with 169 percent of average <br />precipitation estimated over the whole Project. Individual percentages varied from <br />119 percent for the Green Mountain watershed, to 193 percent for the Poudre watershed. <br />Temperatures continued to be varied over the region. <br /> <br />Alva B. Adams Tunnel (Adams Tunnel) diversions totaled 226,900 acre-feet, or 99 percent of <br />average for the water year. Seasonal water deliveries (November 1996-0ctober 1997) were <br />191,000 acre-feet, including carryover water, which was 81 percent of average.
