HABITAT ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The signatories agree to undcriake activities during the term of the Cooperative <br />Agreement to acquire, restore, and manage land and interests in land to provide habitat <br />as set forth in Attat'!hny,n I, wMilestones for the Cooperative Agreement." Land and <br />interests in laud will be acquired, from willing landowners only.. The intent of the <br />signatories is to focus activities to create the greateSt biological beDefit to the target <br />species. . <br /> <br />VI. The I>epanmeot of the Interior agrees ~ia~tY to- iniriSl~. steps ~ required <br />by NEPAto undertake evaluation, with assistaDce from thee other sip:ltorics, of tb: <br />Proposed Altemative aDd of a .range of reascmable altemativC:s which might serve the <br />purposes of the basin-wide Program stated above in Paragraph LD. The SigDatories <br />agree that the Proposed Alicmative described in /4fb1C~ m to this Cooperative <br />Agreement will form the "lIprOposcid federal actionW to be ~lua~ in the NEP A <br />process. A range of reasCmable altcmatives will be rigorously explored aDd evaluated. <br />The draft enviroDmcmal impact stitemem should idl!1ltify a preferred altemative. <br /> <br />B. ,Any activities to be implememed UDder the Cooperative Agreement requiring <br />NEP A evaluation will receive such review separately. <br /> <br />VIn. ESA COMPLIANCE <br /> <br />A. Consistent with Paragraph X.E, implememation of the following measures is to <br />serve as the reasonable and prudem alternative for impacts to the target species and <br />their habitats within the Platte River Basin downstream from the confluence of the <br />North and South Platte Rivers, for water related activities in the Platte River Basin <br />during the term of this Cooperative Agreement. . <br /> <br />5 <br />
