This site is downstream of the confluence with Lightner
Creek and upstream of the proposed Animas-La Plata Project pumping station.

The USGS gage Animas River at Durango (Animas River gage) is located
upstream of Lightner Creek, as indicated in Figure 1. The streamflow at the Boating
Park location consists of the Animas River gage streamflow plus the contribution from
Lightner Creek. The USGS gage Lightner Creek near Durango was operational on
Lightner Creek during a 22-year period from 1928 through 1949. As explained
subsequently in this report, the historic streamflow at the gage was used to extrapolate
more recent Lightner Creek flows.

The Boating Park will be approximately 21 river miles upstream of the Colorado-
New Mexico state line. The USGS gage Animas River near Cedar Hill, New Mexico is
located about 3 miles north of the Colorado-New Mexico state line, downstream of the
confluence of the Animas and Florida rivers. The Boating Park will be approximately 18
miles from this gage location.

RICD Claims

Based on boating park designs prepared by Recreation Engineering and
Planning, the amount of Animas River streamflow to be claimed at each of the Boating
Park structures is summarized below.

3
