<br />decay was approximately exponential with time and was characterized by <br /> <br />a decay constant of about 14 min (Cooper, 1982), or a rate of decay of <br /> <br />liquid water content of 0.05-0.3 g/(m3min) (Lawson et aI., 1980). <br /> <br /> <br />Schemenauer et al. (1981) measured similar rates of change in the <br /> <br /> <br />liquid water content. The rapid decay of liquid water content will be <br /> <br />discussed further in ~ 4.5, in association with the discussion of the <br /> <br /> <br />results from the HIPLEX-1 experlinent. <br /> <br /> <br />Table 2.1 surrmarizes the characteristics of the CuCg clouds in <br /> <br />1978, and serves to describe the nature of the clouds studied in the <br /> <br /> <br />course of this research. <br /> <br />33 <br />
