The convective bands to be seeded were again randomly selected. <br />The results from this treatment are illustrated by Figure 4. Again, a large area of increased <br />precipitation was observed when comparing the seeded and unseeded convective bands. The <br />effect was shifted westward in this experiment compared to Phase I. This is plausible, however, <br />since the aircraft seeding was normally conducted west of the coastline in the vicinity of <br />Vandenberg AFB (i.e. well west of the ground based release point). <br /> <br />Weather Damage Modification Program 8 <br />
