The face of the profiler was then exposed by <br />digging a pit next to it (Figure 6), the last few inches of <br />snow in front of the profiler face being removed with a <br />clean, polyethylene scoop. Baggies were again used to minimize con- <br />tamination of the internal snowpack. <br />
