Mike Shimmin: Our executive roundtable met after November 3 basin <br />roundtable in Castle Rock; we want to get roundtables to stress to CWCB <br />that our studies need to get back underway (those that were put on hold <br />awhile ago). <br />Bill Jerke: Letter is a method to attempt to refocus what water we have <br />and to engage CWCB; <br />Tom Iseman: Wants to make sure he lalows what we are asking vis a vis <br />west slope; our purpose is not to be too aggressive. <br />Eric Hecox: We wanted to make sure our invitation was not that the <br />CWCB was forcing this but rather that we wanted to invite roundtables to <br />work with us. Reps from Gunnison: comments? <br />Gunnison Rep: Well written letter; will look forward to receiving it. <br />Tom Iseman: Other roundtables approved? <br />Hecox. Metro yes; AK will look at it again tomorrow. <br />Vote: Ayy: Motion carries <br />Bill Jerke: Groundwater that is being pumped: Ogallala? <br />Willcinson: Yes: purchased 10,000 ac ft; ground water represents 15,000 <br />ac ft of dried up land; will accrue to the aquifer; tributary to the <br />Republican; dry up of 30,000 and looking for another 30,000...will take <br />an amendment to the farm bill; total of 60,000 acres of dry <br />up...concentrated within 3 miles of surface stream; with this, should come <br />in to compliance within next 50 year. Depletions to ground water are <br />occurring; consumptive use occurring, per compact: 1,500 ac ft need to be <br />delivered. <br />Dianne Hoppe: Construction Fund Bill introduced yet? Late bill status? <br />Pending Severance Tax? <br />Eric W: Yes; late bill status because of severance tax. <br />Janet Bell: Re: Dry-up on that ground; dry land farming possible? <br />Eric W.: What is dried up is put into grass land. Not part of KRF.P <br />program as he understands it. <br />• Legislative Report: <br />Diane Hoppe: Water Bills going through process: <br />SB 36 re: authorization delayed replacement for well replacement; <br />sponsored by Schaffer and Hodge; controversy around this Bill; lively <br />debate sure to come; <br />HB 1280: re: water conservation board re: protection of water rights for in <br />stream flows used by CWCB; concern: no fiscal note... so no cost to state <br />to implement bill; how could this happen; burden will be on the state's <br />3 <br />
