Eight automated precipitation gauges installed within
the expected target area. Two existing DWR digital
gauges (Davis and Grizzly Ridge) will also be used. In
addition an automated weighing gauge has been installed
at La Porte. This gauge will be used as a control site
in the statistical analysis.

10. A dual-channel microwave radiometer located at the

Jackson Creek Observatory to measure the integrated

liquid water and water vapor passing over the target

area.

11. A continuous SF6 detector at the Jackson Creek

Observatory for monitoring SF6 releases from two

seperate propane dispenser sites.

12. A research aircraft provided by the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration. The aircraft is
equipped with a continuous SF6 detector, ice particle
and liquid water probes, and navigation aids to
determine atmospheric winds.

4
