I

I
I

I
I

allocated pursuant to its C-BT ownership for augmentation water supplies. LLRC is currently
pursuing an extension to the current exchange agreement. Unless a long-term agreement can be
obtained, this is augmentation replacement supply will not be available in a permanent plan for
augmentation and therefore, the alternate replacement sources LLRC is seeking funding from CWCB
for will be needed.

VI. POTENTIAL REPLACEMENT SOURCE ALTERNATIVES

I
I

LLRC has considered multiple replacement water sources for use within the plan for augmentation
and the potential for no additional sources. It has been concluded that additional replacement sources
are necessary in order provide sufficient replacement water during extended drought periods. Lower
Latham Ditch Company shares have been determined to be an excellent replacement source because
they have senior water rights that sustain a high yield during both average and drought years. In
addition, implementation of the shares into the LLRC plan for augmentation is easily achieved from'
an operational standpoint. The location of the point of the diversion and river delivery structures
provides augmentation deliveries in the location necessary for the plan for augmentation. Also, the
close working relationship between the LLRC and LLDC provides assurance that the necessary
deliveries are achieved..

I
I

I

I
I

A.
