The city derives its water supply from surface water off the South <br />Arkansas River, ground water from the South Arkansas Gallery System, and Pasquale Springs <br />provides spring water to the municipal system. The City's average total per-capita is 242 gpcd; <br />they realize the importance of water conservation and plan for a 10% reduction in total per~capita <br />use, bringing their gpcd to 218, over the next ten years. The district has a current retail water use <br />of ap.proximately 1,377 acre-feet/year, and. projects to deliver 2,117 acre-feet/yr by 2012, which <br />will then defme them as a covered entity, under statute S37-60-126. The application is attached <br />for your review. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting $28,995 to aid in completing a Water Conservatio:n Plan that meets <br />the req'uirements outlined in SB 07-008. The applicant has demonstrated their financial ability to <br />provide 25.1 % of the total project budget with matching funds in, the form of $9,013 in-kind <br />contributions and $700 cash contribution. Staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application <br />and has determin.ed that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant <br />'proposals.
