In 1979, the district served the equivalent of 211

single-family residential units. The district service area

encompasses approximately 640 acres located in Section 29, 30,

and 31, Township 5 South, Range 71 West: and Section 36, Township

5 South, Range 72 West, 6th Principal Meridian.

The entire service area, with the exception of the Brook

Forest Inn, is zoned mountain residential for single families.

The residents of the district commute daily to jobs in the

Evergreen and Denver metropolitan areas.

Water supply for all of the residents is obtained from four

wells drilled in fractured bedrock. Water from the wells is

chlorinated as it leaves the pumping facilities and enters the

water distribution system. The yield per well ranges from 0.5

gallons per minute (gpm) to 25 gpm. Until (1979), the water

supply was inadequate to meet the demand on numerous occasions;

During the 1978-1979 winter season, approximately 100 families

were without water for a good portion of the season.

Ef?wip
