CHAPTER XI - DESCRIPTION OF SELECTED PLAN

The development of WETP ACK will be pursued using two CWCB loan contracts. The original
Contract No. C150058 (Contract #1), provided for the purchase of 1,500 MVIC Class B Shares
with an associated annual water supply of 6,000 acre-feet. Contract #1 also included the
construction of facilities to irrigate approximately 440 acres in the Sandstone West area using
approximately 880 acre-feet. Though no cost was involved in constructing the facilities, 252
acres of land are being irrigated using approximately 500 acre-feet from the MVIC Class B
Shares. There is approximately 4,620 acre-feet of MVIC Class B Share water available to
irrigate additiona11ands for the selected plan.

The DISTRICT is requesting a second loan (Contract #2) to allow construction of facilities to
irrigate approximately 2,200 acres in two areas designated as Yellow Jacket East (1 ,011 acres)
and Pleasant View East (1,189 acres). The facilities and estimated cost are described in this
chapter.

The process and alternatives considered to determine the facilities in the Selected Plan for
Contract #2 is described in the October 2000 Feasibility Study. Only a description of the
Selected Plan for Contract #2 is described herein.

XL1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SELECTED PLAN
The Selected Plan will utilize approximately 4,400 acre-feet of water available from the 1,500
MVIC Class B Shares to irrigate approximately 2,200 acres of land in the Yellow Jacket East
and Pleasant View East areas.

The Selected Plan consists of the construction of two sets of facilities. One set for the Yellow
Jacket East area to irrigate 1,011 acres and another set of facilities to irrigate 1,189 acres in the
Pleasant View East area. The new land will be served in the same manner as existing Project
irrigated land with delivery boxes for each 160 acres (or less) providing at least 45 psi of
pressure and 5.6 gpm per acre at the high point of the field to operate sprinkler systems.

XL3 DESIGNS AND DRAWINGS OF MAJOR STRUCTURES
The design criteria for the major structures are described below. The construction designs will
be prepared by DISTRICT engineering staff using standard facility drawings produced for
existing facilities.

The major structures for each irrigated block are described below.

Yellow Jacket East - A new pump station along the Dove Creek Canal, approximately
10,560 feet of pipe ranging in size from 10 inches to 16 inches, and 9 delivery boxes.

Pleasant View East - A new pump station along the Dove Creek Canal, approximately
15,840 feet of pipe ranging in size from 10 inches to 24 inches, and 12 delivery boxes.
