THE FREDERICK ECONOMY

Frederick's local economy is based primarily on the manufacturing and service industries. Local
industries include:
· Applied Coatings Technologies, Inc., appliers of silicone release coatings;
· Halleck-Willard, Inc. (HWI), a finn which conducts R&D, engineering design and prototype
manufacturing; and
· Renaissance House Publishers, publishers of various State guidebooks.

Other industries in Frederick's vicinity include: DOVatron International, Inc., manufacturers of
circuit boards for electronics; Flatiron Structures Company, builders of roads, bridges, darns, etc.;
Gerard's French Bakery, commercial bakers; Hauser Flavor Extracts, chemical processor of
natural flavorings; and Specialty Products, wholesale distributors of automotive products.

unemployment, personal income and earnings by industry. This data can help illustrate where the
economy is and where it may be headed. Employment infonnation for individual counties and
regions within the State of Colorado is tracked by the Colorado Division of Labor and
Employment. Employment infonnation pertaining to small areas within the State of Colorado such
as individual towns and cities is not tracked by the Colorado Division of Labor and Employment or
any government agency. Therefore, 1990 Census infonnation has been used as a basis for
estimation using Weld County employment data.
