Local <br />industries include: <br />· Applied Coatings Technologies, Inc., appliers of silicone release coatings; <br />· Halleck-Willard, Inc. (HWI), a finn which conducts R&D, engineering design and prototype <br />manufacturing; and <br />· Renaissance House Publishers, publishers of various State guidebooks. <br /> <br />Other industries in Frederick's vicinity include: DOVatron International, Inc., manufacturers of <br />circuit boards for electronics; Flatiron Structures Company, builders of roads, bridges, darns, etc.; <br />Gerard's French Bakery, commercial bakers; Hauser Flavor Extracts, chemical processor of <br />natural flavorings; and Specialty Products, wholesale distributors of automotive products. <br /> <br />Selected Economic Indicators <br /> <br />The infonnation used in this section to describe Frederick's economy will include employment, <br />unemployment, personal income and earnings by industry. This data can help illustrate where the <br />economy is and where it may be headed. Employment infonnation for individual counties and <br />regions within the State of Colorado is tracked by the Colorado Division of Labor and <br />Employment. Employment infonnation pertaining to small areas within the State of Colorado such <br />as individual towns and cities is not tracked by the Colorado Division of Labor and Employment or <br />any government agency. Therefore, 1990 Census infonnation has been used as a basis for <br />estimation using Weld County employment data. <br /> <br />FREDERICK OCCUPATIONS <br />1990 <br /> <br />Employment <br />The Frederick labor force is <br />largely involved in <br />manufacturing, services and <br />retail trade. In fact, 26 % of <br />workers are in the <br />manufacturing sector <br />compared with 16 % of Weld <br />County workers.
