Specifically for the period 1950-1979, the engineering ancLlyses found the river depletions, as a percentage of headgate diversions, for the Home Supply Ditch. These depletions are shown in Table 5. TABLE 6 Return Flows Home Supply May 31 45 June July 27 August 38 September 45 October 24 A more detailed evaluation of the Home Supply Ditch Company's records shows that for the period from 1920 to 1989, the ditch delivered a net of 11.59 AF per share to stockholder's headgates (See Appendix D for both Home Supply water delivery records and diversion records of the Big Thompson Ditch and Manufacturing Company). This compares to 1..51 AF per share of direct flow diversions used in the City of Loveland's transfer case. The difference is deliveries from storage under the Home Supply Ditch. For the period from 1951-1974, the Home Supply Ditch delivered 6.78 AF of additional system yield for every acre foot it diverted undl~r its direct flow decrees. Deliveries under the Home Supply system are really reservoir deliveries which will support optimum delivery of water to the crops, and are better represented by an irrigation efficiency of 65 percent. Based upon the town of Johnstown's ownership of 6.25 shares of Home Supply Ditch, an evaluation was conducted of the consumptive use of this water for a 1typical water delivery year, 1982, using the irrigated acreage shown in Figure 5, and a crop mixture of: -14-
