Federal Emergency Management Agency
Washington, D.C. 20472

JAN 0 9 1998

The Honorable Jeri Howells
Chairperson, EI Paso County
Board of Commissioners
27 East Vermijo
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903

IN REPLY REFER TO CASE NO. 98-08-058A
Community: EI Paso County, Colorado
Community No.: 080059
Map Panel Affected: 0804IC0287 F
Map Effective Date: March 17, 1997
218-65-R

Dear Ms. Howells:

We reviewed a request dated November 13, 1997, from Mr. Dan Bunting, Regional Floodplain Administrator, for
a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR). All required information for this request was received on December 18, 1997.
Using the information submitted and the effective National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) map, we determined the
property described below is not in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the flood
having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood).

Property Description: Lots 17 through 20, Block 35, Donala Subdivision No.3, as shown on the Plat
recorded in Book Z-2, Page 72, in the Office of the Recorder, EI Paso County,
Colorado

Flooding Source-: Black Forest Creek

This letter revises the above-referenced NFIP map to remove the property from the SFHA. The property is now in
Zone X (unshaded), an area of minimal flooding outside the SFHA.

This LOMR removes the property from the SFHA designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA). In addition, because the property is above the base flood elevation, it is not within the regulatory floodway
shown on the NFIP map. The regulatory floodway is adopted and enforced by your community, and any proposed
revision to the regulatory floodway must be submitted by community officials to FEMA for comment and possible
revision to the NFIP map. The community should contact the Director, Mitigation Division of FEMA in Denver,
Colorado, at (303) 235-4830 for guidance on the data that must be submitted to revise a regulatory floodway.

The enclosed document provides additional information about LO MRs. If you have any questions about this letter,
please contact Ms. Agnes De Coca of our staff in Washington, DC, either by telephone at (202) 646-2746 or by
facsimile at (202) 646-4596.

Sincerely,

'\t~ ~cr

Frederick H.
