This latest effort began in 1999
with a conservation survey of local governments,
publication and distribution of a dam site inventory,
and series of ineetings in each major water basin. Tasks
yet to be completed include the publication of water
information fact sheets, a drought planning assessmentl
carry-over storage assessment, and these preliminary
growth and water demand projection fact sheets. These
materials and others are available at our website.
BaS111 StatlStlCS - These numbers give a general overview of
the current (2000) and future (2030) statistics within the basin.
Year Population Irrigated Total Diversions Current Total
(3) Acres (7) (8) Storage
Capacity (6)
2000 1,686 121,000 397,000 acre feet 33,662 acre feet
2030 2,562 152,000 504,000 acre feet 33,662 acre feet
Percent +52% +26% +27 % 0%
Change
North Platte River Basin Projected Future Water Demands '~ ~~'g' 9~
~oo
600
500
~
N
~
c
c~
0 400
~
..
L
R
~
~
~ soo
LL
L
~
a
Zoo
100
0
Greg Walcher
DNR Executive Director
Rod Kuharich
C~CB ~1reCtOr

Basin Population by Courity ~2~
Nati~e Supply
Municipal CU *
~ =lrrigation CU/Total CU
Total Demands/Di~rsions
~ Exports
226/226.59
182/182.42
10 25.9
20Q0 2010
Year
2020
2030
S~ Native Supply =
Undepleted,
unregulated available
surface water.
