Existing supplies and water rights <br /> <br />The plans for many water providers include the use of the M&I allocations in the <br />Dolores and Animas La Plata Projects. These projects will provide much of the water <br />necessary to meet M&I demands, but the water treatment and transmission <br />infrastructure needed to deliver the water is lacking. The San Miguel Basin (Montrose <br />and San Miguel counties) are projected to have shortfalls related to growth in M&I <br />and SSI demands and in the reliability of existing agricultural supplies.
