<br />Ninety-three percent of North glenn's service area is developed and the population is not <br />expected to grow considerably. Future growth will primarily be a result of infill and <br />redevelopment. Using DRCOG projections adjusted by the City of Northglenn Planning <br />and Development Department, the total population at build out in 2020 is estimated to be <br />39,793. <br /> <br />(iii) Estimated water savings goals to be achieved through implementation of the <br />Plan: <br /> <br />The City's state-approved water conservation plan is designed to be implemented in a <br />programatic matrix manner. This allows the City to select program elements based on <br />the desired level of water savings. The greater the water savings target, the more austere <br />the program element. This approach is flexible, timely and targeted. Although the City <br />is currently achieving a significant water savings, it is anticipated that the implementation <br />of the Plan will contribute to the long term savings goal of 600 acre-feet per year. <br /> <br />(iv) Estimated water savings realized in the past 5 years through existing water <br />conservation efforts: <br /> <br />Through various water conservation activities including toilet and washer rebates, <br />conservation kits, seminars, monthly conservation columns in the City's newsletter, TV <br />segments, classroom education and product giveaways. The City has realized a total <br />savings of 122 acre feet since 2000. <br /> <br />(v) Adequacy, stability and reliability of the entity's water system: <br /> <br />Water Supply Sources/Storage <br /> <br />Current Supplies and Storage <br />The City's primary water supply sources include Berthoud Pass Ditch, Church Ditch <br />inches, Farmer Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) shares and junior rights. <br />Water from all of these sources is delivered to Standley Lake for storage. The Croke <br />Canal, Farmers Highline, and Church Ditch are the primary delivery structures. Standley <br />Lake is located in Jefferson County. The firm yield for all of the City's water rights <br />currently owned is estimated at 2,900 acre feet. <br /> <br />Berthoud Pass Ditch diverts water from the Frasier River Basin, through Berthoud Pass <br />Tunnel to Hoop Creek which flows into Clear Creel<. This water can be diverted from <br />May 15 to October 15 and is principally delivered via the Church Ditch. The City of <br />Golden co-owns the Berthoud Pass Ditch with the City of Northglenn and shares in its <br />water right. <br /> <br />The City of North glenn owns 18% of the total Church Ditch inches and is two-thirds <br />owner of the ditch structure itself. Ownership of the structure allows N orthglenn to use <br />Church Ditch to deliver its Berthoud Pass water as well as its Church Ditch inches. The <br />Church Ditch operating season is April 1 through October 31. <br /> <br />6 <br />
