Broomfield qualifies as a covered entity, lrnder <br />statute 937-60-126, a publicly owned entity with legal o'bligation to sllpply,distribllte, and provid.e <br />water at retail rates to dOlnestic, industlial, and public facility custolners. The City and County has a <br />current total annual water delnand for such Cllstomers of twelve thousand acre-feet/year, al1d <br />accordin.g to Denver Regional COllTIcil of Governments (DRCOG), they have a projected growth rate <br />of approxiolately 245%/year. Taking tIle projected growth rate il1tO consid,eration,Broomfield hopes <br />to im'plement conservation strategies to ensure a sustainable water supply iIlto the funITe. They plall <br />to expand their reuse system and look at other co,nservation measures to achieve tIleir goal of 1. 00;0 <br />total water savings after ten years, and 20% after 30 years. The application is attaclled for YOllr <br />reVle\v. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting $25,344 to aid in updating their Water Conservation. Plan to Ineet tbe <br />requirenlents outlined in S.B 07-008. The applicallt has demonstrated their financial ability to <br />provide 26% of the total project blldget with matching flUIds in the fOlm of $11 ,040 in-kind <br />contriblltions. Staff has reviewed aIId, evaluated the grant application and has dete.nl1ined tllat the <br />proposal meets or exceeds the eWeB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
