The audit will involve several state agencies <br />including the Department of Revenue and its Mineral Audit Section, the Department of Natural <br />Resources' Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />and Geological Survey. The authority for this audit is granted under Section 2-3-103(1) of the <br />Colorado Revised Statutes. The audit will be conducted according to generally accepted standards <br />for governmental auditing. <br /> <br />We have just begun preliminary audit work and expect the audit to be completed around July 2006. <br />The audit will be conducted by: Sally Symanski, Deputy State Auditor; Becky Richardson, Managing <br />Auditor; Jonathan Trull, Team Leader; JeffCandura, Staff Auditor; Anna Weisheit, Staff Auditor. <br /> <br /> <br />We will be contacting you soon to schedule an entrance conference. At this meeting, we will answer <br />any questions you have about the audit process, introduce you to our staff, and discuss any issues of <br />concern to you. We request that you appoint a liaison to assist us with logistics (e.g. the use of on.,. <br />site space, etc.), provide information, and resolve problems. <br /> <br />~1:. order to expedite the audit, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with the information <br />r~ ~ listed on the attached form by Wednesday, March 1, 2006. We can pick up this infomlation at your <br />~ ' office when it is ready or you can send the information to the Office of the State Auditor, Attention: <br />'I I Jonathan Trull, 200 E. 14th Ave., 2nd Floor, Denver, CO 80203-2211 <br /> <br />Colorado Revised Statutes authorize the State Auditor access to protected and confidential <br />information but prohibit". . . the publication of information protected by public law." [Section 2-3- <br />7(2), C.R.S.] We ask that you provide our office with a list of any documents or databases that you <br />believe may be protected or confidential; including the name, a general description, location, level <br />of protection (e.g., Confidential, Proprietary, Sensitive Security Information, etc.).
