2. Provide a brief narrative description of potential sources of funding (in addition to the
CWCB) which have been explored or which will be explored for the proposedproject or study.
There are a number of potential matching sources for any state funds that may be provided to
implement this project proposal. Technical and financial assistance dollars provided by the U.S.
Forest Service's State and Private Forestry program would be well-suited to the project's desired
outcomes, as would USFS funding for management on National Forest System Lands. The
Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service have also been very supportive of
community-based forest management projects and have contributed funds to accomplishing
complimentary treatments on federal lands. At the local government level, open space,
emergency management, and public utility funds have been used to support forest management
objectives. Local homeowners' associations, watershed groups and community forestry
organizations have also contributed both cash and in-kind resources. It should be noted,
however, that there are no other designated state funds that could fulfill the objectives of this
proposal.
