Pro~~ide a brief description of your organization below: The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) is the state's lead agency for forestry and wildland fire expertise. Our foresters help landowners and communities implement sound forestry practices on their land and work cooperatively with other public land management agencies to sustain healthy forests across the landscape. CSFS also coordinates with local fire departments and state and federal emergency response entities to ensure that Colorado is prepared to suppress dangerous wildfires. Study 3 4 X Demonstration project. Rehabilitation or :... replacement of existing Other (Please describe) The CFR Grant Program was established by the Colorado General Assembly through HB 07-1130. The purpose of the grant program is to encourage diverse local stakeholders to work together to develop and implement forest restoration projects that protect critical water supplies and address related forest health challenges such as wildfire risk reduction, conununity protection, ecological restoration and woody biomass utilization. Successful applicants are also asked to submit an accomplishment report hi~hli~htin~ outcomes and lessons learned that could help others. General location of the study or demonstration project. (Please include county, and approximate distance and direction from the nearest town): The CFR grant program, per legislative direction, is open to applicants from across the state. To be eligible, proposed projects must within an area covered by an approved Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Project applicants must also be able to provide a 40°/u match in non-state funds.
