The implementation of the FloodDSS is anticipated to take a total of 2 to ;years to complete as <br />described in the pilot study. The FloodDSS is in the process of sending out an RFQ for the <br />implementation based on the recommendations listed in the pilot study. For FY 07-OS, an appropriation <br />of $250,000 is being sought from the Construction Fund to complete the CWCB Flood DSS <br />program. The Flood DSS was initiated in 2005 with the approval of $50,000 from the Severance Tax <br />operational for the pilot study. The program was again funded in 2007, with the approval of $250,000 <br />again from the construction fund. The current total of non-reimbursable investment in the Flood DSS is <br />$250,000. <br />Discussion <br />The Flood DSS primary focus is to meet the needs by providing a clearinghouse of flood hazard <br />information for use by a variety of users, including developers, insurance industry and government <br />agencies. It will also provide timely and well-organized flood outlook data products for emergency <br />managers. Finally, provide an additional clearinghouse of additional flood-related data, including weather <br />modification, stream restoration. <br />The full scale Flood DSS will include the following: <br />• User Needs Assessments <br />• Data Recommedations <br />o Data Collection <br />o Data Availability and Quality <br />o Digitizing Data <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />Flood Protection • Water Supply Planning and Finance • Stream and Lake Protection <br />Water Supply Protection • Conservation and Draught Planning <br />
