In <br />that correspondence, the States also inforn7ed Reclamation t}Tat they would move fun;•ard on a parallel <br />track with a package uf~ther actions including along-term augmentation study. -[l7e 7-States authorized <br />the C'u{orado River Water Consultants to complete a technical evaluation of numerous options for both <br />short-term and IOng-term aufm7cntation of the Colorado Ricer System. T17at study is nearly complete and <br />the 7-States are considering how ro move forward. "Technical Committee members believe that the <br />overall approach should bee to take steps in the short term focusing nn options that can be implemented as <br />soon as possible to provide signi ticant augmentation 6}''020 and also begin further studies on long-term <br />actions that could increase the average water supply of the system by at least one million acre-feet per <br />year by 200. In addition, water operation and management actions should continue to focus on options <br />that will meet current and projected demands and reduce susceptibility to drought. As additumal augmentation projects are ldenutied for <br />implementation, the ('olorado River Bastn States have agreed to cost share in those et~'otts. This request <br />is to provide fur C'olorado's cost share in those efforts.
