Section 4 <br />Delineating and Prioritizing Colorado's Environmental and Recreational Resources and Needs <br />~ Section 4.6 Overview of Select Environmental <br />and Recreational Projects-describes examples <br />of select case studies and options to address <br />environment and recreation projects brought up <br />by all three subcommittees. <br />~ Section 4.7 Conclusions describes the overall <br />conclusions of the Environment and Recreation <br />TRT efforts. <br />~ Section 4.8 Recommendations provides <br />recommendations based on outcomes of the <br />Environment and Recreation TRT. <br />~ Section 4.9 Environment and Recreation <br />Technical Roundtable Membership provides a <br />list of members who volunteered to participate in <br />this TRT. <br />4.2 Environment and <br />Recreation Roundtable <br />4.2.1 Mission and ®bjectives <br />The following draft mission statement was <br />presented at the first Environment and Recreation <br />TRT meeting: <br />Identify opportunities in each of Colorado's <br />eight major river basins to address <br />environment and recreation priorities <br />This mission statement was modified during the <br />first meeting to include the following: <br />Identify generally accepted approaches <br />to quantify environmental and <br />recreational water needs <br />Identify and utilize existing and newly created <br />physical, institutional, legal, <br />and financial mechanisms designed to <br />serve those needs and values <br />Additionally, during the first meeting objectives <br />were identified, but were never formally adopted. <br />However, they were incorporated into the final <br />questions to be addressed by the Environment and <br />Recreation TRT. <br />4.2.2 Environment and Recreation <br />TRT Meetings <br />Three Environment and Recreation TRT meetings <br />were held to discuss the items shown in Figure 4-l. <br />Additionally, an interim meeting was held between <br />the second and third meetings to discuss potential <br />methods of identifying and prioritizing environment <br />and recreation needs. Subcommittees were also <br />formed and met numerous times over the last <br />2 years. <br />TRT 2 <br />Presentation of an overview to the approach of addressing <br />questions. <br />Discussion of approaches to questions and TRT schedule. <br />TRT 3 <br />Review of white paper report schedule and interaction with <br />SWSI TRT that was formed to address the gap between <br />current and future municipal and agricultural water needs. <br />Environmental and recreational resource/attribute mapping <br />and data quality objectives. <br />Discussion of case studies. <br />Environmental and recreational project identification. <br />Discussion of final work products and schedule. <br />Figure 4-1 <br />Environment and Recreation TRT -Meeting Discussion <br />Topics <br />FINAL DRAFT 4-3 <br />
