Recreational In-channel Diversion Application in the Yampa/White/Green Basin
In December 2003, the City of Steamboat Springs filed an application for a whitewater
park RICD for a maximum flow of 1,700 cfs in the first half of June and a minimum of
120 cfs from July 15 to October 31 each year. The CWCB unanimously voted against
the request, indicating that it sought too much water. The application is still pending and
is intended for District 6 Water Court.
