The project headquarters and research aircraft <br />were located at the Prescott airport. A U.S.F.S. (Forest <br />Service) Helitac base was used for the project offices and <br />an adjacent commercial facility provided hangar storage for <br />the aircraft. Weather forecast information was obtained through <br />the facilities of the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) <br />Flight Service Station which was also at the airport. The <br />station received facsimile weather maps, satellite photographs, <br />hourly weather observations and forecast products.
