~

Blue River - Green Mountain Canyon

Season:

Put In:
Take Out:
Segment:

Low Water:

Late Summer, based on downstream call

Green Mountain Camp (below the dam)*
Spring Creek Road
3.8 miles

< 600 cfs

High Water: > 600 cfs

Optimum: 2: 500 cfs

Comments: This is a beginner to intermediate section of the river. At flows below the
low water level too many obstacles exist for a good experience. High
flows are of more interest to more advanced boaters who will seek other
stream segments where hydraulics are more interesting if they are
available. Because of late summer releases from Green Mountain
Reservoir this segment is one of the few latee season flU1S used by more
novice boaters.

3

Information: Flow information typically accessed at http://www.water.state.co.us (Blue
River below Green Mountain Reservoir) Water Talk, Division 5, Station 2
(303) 831-7135

Information provided by Chad Gorby at Summit Kayak.
