o Under Objective 4: An additional subobjective should be: "Protect and
improve riparian, wetland, and aquatic ecosystems"
o Under Objective 5: The promotion of cost effectiveness requires
accurately and fully accounting for costs and benefits~ which would
include evaluating the social impacts of a project (for example, impacts on
water quality or a community's economic activity). An objective could 'be
added with this in mind: '~In project evaluation, include the associated
social costs and benefits"

General Questions/Comments

o In terms of Tier 1 water supply projects, it would be very helpful to know which
ones have been identified and how much yield they represent, especially in
relation to the state's compact entitlement~ Could you provide the roundtable
participants with the list of identified "Tier 1" projects by basin and their
prospective yield?
[J I wanted to follow-up regarding the inability of one of our recreational
representatives (Gary Hansen) to participate in SWSI~ something I've already
talked with Rick Brown about by phone~ When will a new recreational
representative be appointed to the Colorado River Basin Roundtable? Without
such an appointment before the next meeting, this interest remains under-
represented within the process~
Q Thank you for the overview of comments on the objectives and subobjectives for
each basin~ It helps to see the information for the other roundtables and to review
our own roundtable's comments. To facilitate this further, would it be possible to
have a Colorado River Basin Roundtable distribution list (e.g~ email) so that we
all could have access to each others' comments, studies that have been referenced,
proposed projects, etc.? This would help us stay up...to-date between meetings and
would facilitate more open communication (especially important since we only
have a few meetings across the IS-month timeframe). Similarly, gaining an
understanding of the issues, projects, demands, etc. brought up in other basins
would be invaluable. Perhaps this could be accomplished through an inter-basin
communication forum?
o Did you receive my submission, dated November 6th (which also included
materials that were mailed to you)? I did not see this on the comments ]og~
o I will be able to attend the next Colorado Basin Roundtable Meeting on January
21 st, 2004~
