More information is needed to make good decisions:
±
SWSI needs to estimate water lost to sublimation.
±
I want to know how much water the Colorado River basin is entitled to using, and
how much it is obligated to give to other basins.
±
Good baseline data is needed. It should be a necessary outcome of this study.
±
SWSI needs baseline information regarding the influence of groundwater supplies
with respect to the total water supply.
±
SWSI should look at the impact of snowmaking on river water levels
±
Will SWSI consider intra-state compacts with water rights?
±
SWSI needs to obtain baseline data regarding environmental water demands.
How does the Endangered Species Act affect the Colorado main stem?
±
The Colorado Basin needs an education campaign directed at Front Range
residents and new people moving into the Western Slope. The education
campaign should educate residents about the importance of water, and the fact
that Western Slope water is not unlimited.
±
Colorado has the seventh largest immigrant population in the nation. Immigration
could explain the large growth, and should be considered in planning for the
future.
±
People who move in to Colorado are not aware of our water issues. There should
be a greater degree of water education.
±
What does recreation on streams and flat water contribute to the economy of the
basin?
