Gunnison Basin Roundtable Technical Meeting #2
Meeting Summary

. G13 - Upper Gunnison-Uncompahgre Basin Phase 1 - Feasibility Study needs to be examined
for potential options. Information will be used.
. G14 - Basinwide augmentation plan for agricultural users is a Tier 2 option.
. GIS - Plan for augmentation for non-agricultural purposes using Aspinall Unit is a Tier 1
option.
. G16 - Improve irrigation systems is a Tier 1 option.
. G17 - Uncompahgre Water Users in-system re-regulating reservoirs and supply
enhancements is probably a Tier 2 option.
. G18 - Project 7 Water Supply Enhancements is probably a Tier 2 option.
. G19 - Tri-County Water Conservancy District - Various reservoir sites in Upper
Uncompahgre Basin can support "most other uses" beyond M&I a Tier 3.
. Add Orchard Mesa project to the consideration list ("Don Clay" project); look at Gunnison
component of the project.
. G21 - A/B Lateral is probably a Tier 2 (could be Tier 1) with supplemental EIS underway;
suggested for Tier 3 status.
. G22 - Lower Gunnison Selenium and Salinity Control is a Tier 1 project.
. Cloud seeding proposal should be added to the list.
. Site-specific Probable Maximum Precipitation analysis at existing storage sites can result in
the ability to store more water without the threat of dam failure/ excess spill and/ or could
change spillway design criteria.
. Crested Butte reservoir storage concepts in Tier 3 (two Washington Gulch and two East
River).

Supply Methodology

Kelly DiNatale presented a brief overview of the methodology to be employed in SWSI for
estimating water supplies. The preliminary results of these analyses will be presented at BRT
Meeting #3.

Feedback from the BRT members follows.

. Identify codes on dam site inventory with a legend.

Preparation for Basin Roundtable Meeting #3

.
