Park County Parcel Summary
Figures from 1997 and 2003 Abstract of Assessment

1997

2003

Difference

V Bcant Land Parcels
Residential 24,770
CODDDeftUd 21

25,761
79

+991
+58

Built Land Parcels
Residential
Commercial
Manufacturing

8,236
233
o

10,307
285
3

+2,071
+52
+3

Acres in Ag

323,374

266,510

.. 56,864

During this time frame, two subdivisions were approved for a total of approximately 100
new parcels. The largest majority of new parcels (approximately 900-) were created under
3S-acre splits or one additional lot splits. Both processes are subdivision exemption
processes and also exempt from augmentation water requirements. I would predict these
exemption divisions to continue being the way most lots are created in Park County
because of minimal costs involved and lack of need to purchase augmentation water.

So far in 2004, two subdivisions with a total of approximately 50 parcels have been
approved. These also have augwater in place. No other subdivisions are currently being
processed by the county. I know at least one developer is currently in the process of
changing ag water to aug water and I expect will rile a subdivision application sometime
this year for at least 400 homes.

With approximately 26,000 vacant lots in the county which either have aug water in place
or don't require aug water, the ''new water" needed is possibly much less than the 14,000
acre feet currently projected. It is unrealistic to assume all the future growth will take
place on these lots, but I'm sure a large portion of it will as well as on future exempted
divisions of land.

Hope this info is helpful in refining future water supply figures for Park County.
