With a submittal dated December 20, 2002, , P .E., David Evans and Associates, Inc., requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and FIS report to show the effects of channel modifications along Weaver Creek, associated with development of The Preserve at Weaver Creek, from approximately 1,340 feet downstream to just upstream of West Hampden Avenue. The channel modifications included a,low-water pedestrian trail crossing, two stormwater detention facilities, placement of fill, and encroachment into the floodplain along the east side of Weaver Creek through the revised reach. This request follows up on a Conditional Letter of Map Revision issued on November 9,2001. All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Jay N. Hutchison, P.E., City Engineer, Public Works Department, City of Lakewood; - - 1, Project Manager, Terracon; and - - . We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and in the effective FIS report. We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and floodplain boundary delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along the revised reach of Weaver Creek. As a result of the modifications, the Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) for Weaver Creek and the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and decreased in other areas. No regulatory floodway is identified through this reach of Weaver Creek on the effective FIRM, The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 08059C0315 E and Profile Panels 560P and 561P for Jefferson County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas, which will become effective on June 17,2003. This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) will hereby revise the above-referenced June 17 FIRM panel and the affected portions of the FIS report, The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel listed above and as modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community,
