In a letter dated
February 20, 2002, Mr. Dan Hartman, Director of Public Works, City of Golden, requested that FEMA
revise the FIRM and FIS report to show the effects of channel modifications associated with the Ford Street
bridge replacement along Clear Creek from approximately 120 feet downstream of the confluence with
Tucker Gulch to approximately 1,850 feet upstream of Washington Avenue. The channel modifications
included an enlarged bridge crossing at Ford Street, channel relocation, and grading. This request follows
up on a Conditional Letter of Map Revision issued on May 20,1999.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Hartman and
P.E., Senior Engineer, Anderson Consulting Engineers, Inc.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and in
the effective PIS report. We have revised the FIRM and PIS report to modify the elevations and floodplain
boundary delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year
(base flood) along Clear Creek in your community from approximately 120 feet downstream to
approximately 50 feet upstream of the confluence with Tucker Gulch. As a result of the modifications, the
Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) for Clear Creek and the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the
area that would be inundated by the base flood, decreased. The modifications are shown on the enclosed
annotated copies of PIRM Panel 0165 B and Profile Panel 84P. This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR)
hereby revises the above-referenced panel of the effective FIRM dated August 5, 1986, and the affected
portions of the PIS report dated July 4,1989.

Because this revision request also affects the City of Golden, a separate LOMR for that community was
issued on the same date as this LOMR.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel listed above and as modified by
this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community.
