10) Seismic Issues

Tom: Had a conversation, got an add-on so that Chatfield is tagged onto study, local firm
WLA specializing on this kind of work, expect to have a draft in December, and a
meeting in January to go over the results. Just one piece, that says that at Chatfield site
what would be the expected ground motion from a specific siesmic event. It's either
Houston we have a problem or we don't. Have to chase this down so we get an answer.
Things on the work, and need about $100K in FY 08 to continue this seismic study for
Chatfield, trying to figure how to pay for this. Hope for Corp O&M money, or we agree
to reduce in-kind services, there might be other options. Any questions on this? This is
ground motion study as part of Phase I. So may put pressure on Dave and Marge get this
money.

Sandy: Don't know if the O&M budget could support this.

Tom: Know all funds are spoken for.

Marge: Lets talk and see if we could make a case for this.

Rick: If the ground motion study says no problem, still need $1 OOK? Because its only
part of Phase I?

Tom: Ground Motion study will tell you what would happen in an event, other part of it
is what it means for the dam. They have to study that regardless. I think that's how it
works.

David: I understood it was $60K was for phase I. I agree with you, we need to be sure
the money is going to be there in place.

Rick: Could the $100K come out of the $600K that the CWCB just got?

Tom: Yes, but keep in mind that it has to stay in the 50/50 balance. Perhaps reducing the
in-kind share. Corps is looking into the possibility of doling the seismic outside of the
project so we don't upset the 50/50 balance.

11) Action Items/N ext Meeting

Tom: Next Meeting - 18t Tuesday of December, 1 :30 this room Thanks for coming
Next meeting, have responses to proposal from Mount Carbon (Kevin Kinnear)
appreciate some feedback before next meeting.
