<br />- 4 - <br /> <br />FR/EIS Chapters - <br />. Chapters 1, 3, and 6 cooperating agencies reviewed and now Corps is reviewing comments. <br />. Chapter 2 Alternatives has been given to Corps; Corps is clarifying their internal comments <br />before submitting to TT. <br />. Chapter 4 is Environmental Consequences. Conducting habitat mapping (new scope item) - in <br />field last week and this week. Worked with Pete Plage - FWS on plan for mapping Preble's <br />Meadow Jumping Mouse habitat, migratory bird habitat, and wetlands. <br />. Rare Plant Surveys - The 2005 rare plant survey report is done and this completes work for the <br />Orchid and Colorado Butterfly plant and that issue has been wrapped up. USFWS approved the <br />report. <br />. Cultural resources - Waiting to hear back from Tim Meade (Corps) regarding the status of the <br />field surveys he is doing under a separate project at Chatfield and Cherry Creek dams. TT hopes <br />to provide input as to where they are going to survey. <br />. Recreation Impacts - Tetra Tech is waiting on report from State ParkslEDA W for recreation <br />analysis. This report affects other analyses such as transportation impacts tied to that and whether <br />they are going to relocate the park road. <br />. Downstream Flood Damages - Looking at flood damages and have prepared an internal draft <br />report. <br />. Water Quality - Tetra Tech is getting water quality modelers back on this project will finish <br />revisions in about one month. Revisions are based on comments from the Water Quality <br />Workgroup and meetings with the Corps. <br />. Reallocation Costs - Gene Sturm (Corps) is reviewing approach outline prepared by Chuck <br />Hillerson (TT). Marty will check status. <br />. Reservoir Modeling - Corps modelers have prepared two hydrology/hydraulics draft reports <br />(reservoir and river modeling). These are being reviewed internally and will be appendices in the <br />FR/EIS. <br />. Mitigation - is not a separate chapter, habitat mapping will help describe the environmental <br />impacts, and this is needed to determine mitigation needs. <br />. Recreation Mitigation Phase II Study - the CWCB had a lengthy discussion with State Parks <br />and great progress has been made regarding the Recreation Mitigation Study - Phase II. <br />o Phase I and Phase II studies will be merged into one document. <br />o On October 13th State Parks will present and informational item to their Board. <br />o End of October there is a proposed workshop on the Chatfield Project with the Parks <br />Board. <br />o EDA W used elevation 5444 and added two feet for permanent facilities to maximize the <br />storage use for water users. <br />o Parks will work with Tetra Tech to see how well the EDA W study fits with the format of <br />the FR/EIS. The National Park Service and DOW are reviewing the EDA W report. <br />o Meeting request: Tetra Tech requested, if possible, a meeting prior to late October with <br />Parks to get input regarding transportation and noise impacts and other issues that are tied <br />to the Recreation Study. Tom will setup meeting with Parks and Tetra Tech. <br />. Chatfield Congressional Meetings - If water users are interested in finding out more about <br />Congressional meetings please contact Tracy Bouvette. A group will travel to Washington D.C. <br />from October 17-19, 2006. Another trip is scheduled February 2007 that is important to remind <br />Congress of our need for project funding. The team is trying to time the travel to coincide with <br /> <br />Flood Protection . Water Project Planning and Finance. Stream and Lake Protection Water Supply Protection.
