. Gene concluded that he needs to do more homework before all decisions
are made and requested future demand estimates from all cooperating
agencies to fully assess needs in the 50 to 100 year window.
. Betty Peak said that if Gene foresees any changes to the econom ics
section of the EIS that they need to be addressed before it goes to Tetra
Tech.

Recreation Analysis/EDAW Study Update (State Parks)
. Paul Flack reported that a conference call took place two weeks ago (with
the Corps and Tetra Tech) to discuss overlap duties with EDAW.
. Mapping the areas where cottonwood trees would potentially drown is
taking place.
. The EDAW report related to the 7,700 AF reallocation is on schedule.
Other parts of the report will take longer than the original timeline. The
7,700 AF report will now be part of the total report and will not be released
separately.
. EDAW is currently checking for consistency in the contour data-there
appears to be some discrepancies between the original studies and the
new data.
. Eric Laux stressed that EDAW and Tetra Tech need to be working closely
together on the report.
. Eric Laux said the Corps is currently looking at facilities located within the
elevation of the 1 O-year pool. Flood-proof structures are allowed but
utilities like water and sewer will have to be relocated above the pool level.

Project Schedule and Delivery of Preliminary Draft EIS
. The deadline for the preliminary draft for participant review is the end of
September. Tom Browning said that some pieces may come in later than
that but that is the date they are still shooting for. The mitigation plan will
not be completed by then.
. All internal issues must get resolved and comments from agencies will be
addressed by February 2008.
. The internal review by the Corps in Omaha will take place from November
through mid-December.
. It will be released to operators at the end of January 2008.
. The EIS will go out for public comment in February 2008.
. If this schedule is followed, a ROD should be delivered in February 2009.
. Participant question: how this the release of the draft EIS be geared to the
public? Flyers will be coming out according to Eric Laux.
. Karen Sitoski informed the group that there is a Chatfield Stakeholders
Public Forum (with 75-100 agency reps participating) taking place in the
fall of this year (held by the Chatfield Basin Conservation Network). She
suggested that a representative from the Corps be on hand to give a
presentation about the Chatfield EIS. Eric Laux agreed that this would be
a good idea but stressed the fact that, at this point, he can only inform the

5
