<br />Addressing the Gap Technical Roundtable Meeting #1 <br />Meeting Summary <br /> <br />- Gaps are primarily smaller and newer providers. Should this group encourage these <br />providers to not be in the water development business? <br />- Risk in overlaps of projects. <br />- Small providers don't have the resources to solve their own problems. <br />. Discussion on size of gap <br />- Gap recommendation in SWSI is to monitor Identified Projects & Processes <br />- Gap number is dynamic. <br />- Need factor of safety. <br />- Identify beneficiaries (families). <br />- Demands continue beyond 2030. <br />- Look at flexibility of alternatives. <br />- Look at extending infrastructure. <br />- With current costs of business, agriculture is not viable. <br />- Agriculture needs ability to harvest income of water asset by leasing - need infrastructure <br />to deliver to M&I. <br />. In Gunnison talking about re-operating existing facilities for benefit of endangered species. <br />. In Upper Gunnison, some agriculture users are not interested in selling and cannot do <br />fallowing. <br />. Changing agriculture use, changes socio-economics and environment. <br />. Will this group address funding mechanisms? <br />- Yes. The SWSI team asked for input from each basin on the status of the gap. <br /> <br />Arkansas Basin <br />. Black Squirrel closed GW Basin, Denver Basin interaction had first call. <br />. PSOP - IPP <br />. Southern delivery system. <br />. Fallowing is being formalized into a program. <br /> <br />Colorado Basin <br />. No Comment. <br /> <br />San Miguel Basin <br />. Potential industrial power demands. <br /> <br />Gunnison Basin <br />. Agriculture community on percent deliveries 8 out of 10 years. <br /> <br />Rio Grande Basin <br />.
