each other at the Basin level, and that communication between the two should be strong.
Jim Siscoe tallced with Rick Brown prior to the meeting and agreed that the consultants
come here to do work. He thought, in addition, that it's important for our Basin to have
face-time with the "Denver" people as well It was suggested that the work groups
provide updates at each roundtable meeting. It's not very clear what the approval process
will be or where it will occur. Jim Siscoe's impression was that CWCB would be
looking to the Roundtable members to review the teclulical level of detail being used to
make decisions. There is still quite a bit of concern about the overall top-down process
and what the results will mean for the Basin. Steve posed the question on what the next
steps should be. Jolu1 P. volunteered to go over SWSI-l, see what it says about each
community and report back to this roundtable.
Steve asked if the members wanted to continue doing a presentation per meeting on each
region. Most thought it was a good idea. Tim & Raymond will do one on Mancos at the
October meeting. Mike Preston will report at the January meeting.
Prior to the meeting, Marianne Mate provided aone-page summary on needs for the
McPhee marina infrastructure. In Marianne's absence, Gerald Koppenhafer reported that
money is needed to match a grant to construct a new breakwater. This project is very
costly because of the particular geography. It was discussed and there was general
consensus that this is not the type of project that is appropriate for this group to provide
financial assistance to.
J. R. Berry shared that Rick Brown went beyond the call of duty several times to make it
happen for the Goodman Point request and wanted to take this opportuiuty to publicly
aclalowledge his support. Carrie Wiess also supported J. R.'s statement and applauds
Rick for his efforts with the Dry Gulch request.
Steve adjourned the meeting at 5:20 P.M.
