Effective Date of J U N 2 5 2003 <br />This Revision: <br /> <br />102-I-A-C <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Lasater: <br /> <br />This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for your community in <br />accordance with Part 65 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations. In a letter dated <br />August 14,2002, Mr. Tom Williams, P.E., Stormwat~r Utility Manager, Department of Public Works, <br />Town of Parker, requested that FEMA revise the FI~ and FIS report to show the effects of revised <br />hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, more detailed top~graphic information, and channel modifications <br />associated with the Canterberry Crossing (Villages of Parker) development along Sulphur Gulch from <br />approximately 1,580 feet downstream ofCanterberryjParkway to approximately 930 feet upstream of <br />Canterberry Trail. The revision was extended upstream into the unincorporated areas of Douglas County <br />to approximately 1,130 feet upstream of County Road, 9 (CR9) as the upstream limit of detailed study. <br />The channel modifications inch,lded construction of two new culvert stream crossings at Canterberry <br />Parkway and Canterberry Trail. <br /> <br />All data required to complete our review of this requ~st were submitted with letters from Mr. Brad <br />Robenstein, P.E., Drainage and Flood Control Engine~r, Public Works Department, Douglas County; <br />IIJ ...'.E., Project Engineer, EMK Cons~ltants, Inc.; and Mr. Williams. <br /> <br />We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM <br />and in the effective PIS report. We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and <br />floodplain and floodway boundary delineations ofthei flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled <br />/, or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Sul~hur Gulch in your community from approximately <br />1,580 feet downstream p! Cant(~rberry Parkway to approximately 930 feet upstream of Canterberry <br />Trail. As a result of the modifications, the Base Floo~ Elevations (BFEs) for Sulphur Gulch and the <br />widths of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), thej area that would be inundated by the base flood, <br />and the regulatory floodway im:reased in some areas *nd decreased in other areas.
