Comprehensive update to the 2002 Colorado Drought Mitigation and Response Plan, <br />including potential development of statewide triggers and identification of anticipated <br />socioeconomic drought impacts. <br />The State's Water Availability Task Force recently evaluated and expanded its drought <br />mitigation goals into the following eight goals. These will be used to guide the selection of <br />activities under the Program. <br />1. Improve Water Availability Monitoring <br />2. Increase Public Awareness and Education <br />3. Support Substitute Water Supply Plans and Leasing Options to Augment Water <br />Supply <br />4. Facilitate Watershed and Local Planning <br />5. Reduce Water Demand/Encourage Conservation <br />6. Impact Reduction <br />7. Develop Intergovernmental and Interagency Stakeholder Coordination <br />8. Evaluate Potential Impacts from Climate Change <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board request the General Assembly to authorize $300,000 from the <br />Construction Fund to be appropriated to the Department of Natural Resources for allocation to <br />the CWCB for use in its Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning. <br />
