The University is funded by state and federal appropriations, student tuition, and contracts and <br />grants from diverse entities. This project would be administered through the CSU Vice President for <br />Research ? Office of Sponsored Programs. The responsible person is Dr. Bill Farland, Vice President for <br />Research, 203 Administration Building, phone (970) 491-7194. The specific project proposed would be <br />conducted at the CSU Arkansas Valley Research Center (CSU AVRC) located in Rocky Ford. This <br />Center was established in 1888 and has been conducting research and outreach activities related to crop <br />production and irrigation water management for the past 119 years. The current staff consists of 2 <br />research scientists and 2 support staff. Funding for the base operations of the Center are provided by the <br />CSU Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) in addition to contracts and grants obtained to fund specific <br />crop production related studies. Collaborative programs are conducted with the Extension staff located in <br />the Southeast Area as well as with faculty housed in several departments on the main CSU campus in <br />Fort Collins. <br />2 <br />
