Please provide a brief narrative of any related or relevant previous studies. <br /> <br />State of Colorado Waters 305(b) reports are used to place streams on the list of impaired waters, the 303(d) list. <br />Currently no streams in the Basin are on this list. However, several segments are on the Monitoring and Evaluation <br />List meaning that these are in need of additional evaluation to see if they candidates for listing. Stagecoach Reservoir <br />is on the 2002 M&E list, as are several tributaries that were placed on the list by the USFS for potential problems <br />associated with sediment loads. <br /> <br />Yampa River 208 plan titled “Yampa Basin Watershed Plan” was published in May of 2002. This document <br />summarizes many water quality related items in the basin. It includes an executive summary and sections regional <br />overview, population projections, water quality assessments, nonpoint source pollution, water quality management <br />programs, and water quality management policy in the Basin. Implementation recommendations from the 208 report <br />include the following: <br /> <br />? <br /> Investigate potential intergovernmental agreements/vehicles for continued water quality programs and evaluations <br />in the basin. <br />? <br /> Encourage local land use agencies and governmental agencies to investigate funding sources for water quality <br />evaluations. <br />? <br /> Prepare a comprehensive inventory of sites and compile data for the Yampa River Basin. <br />? <br /> Develop a long range plan for collecting and assessing data. <br /> <br /> <br />This proposal carries forward work proposed under the 208 plan. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />
