The flood profiles generated by this study have been checked against results of the Worrall study.
Differences in computed WSELs are less than 0.5 foot except where structures have been modified,
obvious errors were made, or different hydraulic computations were used. In the Worrall study,
pressure or weir flow was treated using FHW A techniques, whereas in the current study, the special
bridge routine ofHEC-2 was utilized.

Study results were compared in the vicinity of Beaver Village to the report completed by the
developer's engineer (Reference 7). Computed WSELs agreed to within 0.5 foot. The current study
indicated two areas (less than 2 acres) where inundation would occur that were not indicated by the
previous study.

Study results were compared to an unpublished report produced for the developer of the Maryvale
property on the lower Fraser River north ofthe Town of Winter Park (Reference 19). This report was
not available in its entirety, only a map showing the flood boundary. The current study indicated a
floodplain that is significantly wider in all cases than the previous study. Because the report from the
previous study was unavailable, no comparison of data or methodologies could be made. A site visit
in the spring of 1983 during high-flow conditions (about the 50-year event) found water beyond the
floodplain indicated by the previous study, but within the floodplain indicated by the current study.

An FIS has previously been prepared for the Town of Winter Park (Reference 20).

This report either supersedes or is compatible with all previous studies published on streams studied
in this report and should be considered authoritative for the purposes of the NFIP.

8.0 LOCATION OF DATA

Information concerning the pertinent data used in the preparation of this study can be obtained by
contacting FEMA, Federal Insurance and Mitigation Division, Denver Federal Center, Building 710,
Box 25267, Denver, Colorado 80225-0267.

9.0 BIBLIOGRAPHY AND REFERENCES

1.
