Back2round Characterization of Water System and Potential Growth:

(a) Current and past years per capita water use for the last five years:

North Table Mountain Water and Sanitation District's surface water treatment plant
I
currently treats about 5 million gallons per day of water during peak season. Service area
population, total annual water use and gallons used per capita per day (gpcd) are dhown
in Table 3 for the years 2000 through 2006.

Table 3: Service Area Population and Water Use

Estimated (Iota I Annual
Service Area Use (1,000,000
Year Population gallons)
2000 7430 753
2001 7823 691
2002 7944 642
2003 8125 588
2004 8560 517
2005 8911 628
2006 9353 772
Average 8307 656
Estimated service population was calculated by m uliplying number of
residential accounts (owners and renters) by 2.62 people per household, which
is the average household number for 2000 census blocks in and around NTM
service area.

GPCIO
278
242
221
198
166
193
226
218

Total annual use includes all billing database use, not just residential uses.
GPCD = average gallons water used per capita per day

(b) Past, current and predicted population served by the City:

Population estimates for NTM for the years 2000 through 2006 are provided in Table 3.
In December of 2006 NTM completed an evaluation of growth potential in and aJound its
existing service area, Using landownership information, satellite imagery, topogr1phic
data, and density assumptions, an estimate of developable surface area was made.1 Within
NTM's current service area approximately 77% of the area is developed with an I
estimated 1,338 acres of developable land remaining. In addition, the majority ofi'land
west of Highway 93, which is not currently in NTM's service area, could be developed,
This area encompasses approximately 1,176 acres. Assuming a density of three Houses
per acre, if all the land in NTM's service area and west of highway 93 were develbped at
three houses per acre NTM's service population could triple to include an additiohal
7,500 residences.
