Federal Emergency Management Agency
Washington, D.C. 20472

NOV 25 1997

Ms. Polly Page
Chairperson, Arapahoe County
Board of Commissioners
5334 South Prince Street
Littleton, Colorado 80166

IN REPLY REFER TO CASE NO. 97-08-367A
Follows Case No. 97-08-249A
Community: Arapahoe County, Colorado
Community No.: 080011
Map Panels Affected: 08005C0280 J and
08005C0285 J
Map Effective Date: August 16, 1995
218-65-R-NF

Dear Ms. Page:

We reviewed a request dated August 7, 1997, from for a
Letter of Map Revision (LOMR). All required information for this request was received on October 27, 1997.
Using the information submitted and the effective National Flood Insurance Program (NAP) map, we determined
that Lots 1 through 11, 18, 19, and 20 on the property described below are not in the Special Flood Hazard Area
(SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded
in any given year (base flood). We also determined Lots 12 through 17 and Tract A on the property described
below would be inundated by the base flood and are in the regulatory floodway. These lots, as shown on the
effective NAP map, remain in the SFHA designated Zone AE.

Property Description: Lots 1 through 20 and Tract A, Little Comanche Subdivision, as shown on the
Plat recorded in Book 40, Page 59, in the Office of the Recorder, Arapahoe
County, Colorado

Flooding Source:

Little Comanche Creek

This letter revises the above-referenced NAP map to remove Lots 1 through 11, 18, 19, and 20 from the SFHA.
These lots are now in Zone X (unshaded), an area of minimal flooding outside the SFHA. This LOMR removes
the lots from the SFHA designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In addition, because
the lots are above the base flood elevation (BFE), they are not within the regulatory floodway shown on the NAP
map. The regulatory floodway is adopted and enforced by your community, and any proposed revision to the
regulatory floodway must be submitted by community officials to FEMA for comment and possible revision to the
NFIP map. The community should contact the Director, Mitigation Division of FEMA in Denver, Colorado, at
(303) 235-4830 for guidance on the data that must be submitted to revise a regulatory floodway.

The elevation of the lowest ground on a lot must be at or above the BFE for the lot to be outside the SFHA.
Because the elevation of the lowest ground on each of the lots listed below is lower than the corresponding BFE,
the lots are within the SFHA. These elevations, in feet, are referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum
of 1929.

Lill

Elevation of Lowest Ground

Base Flood Elevation

12
13
14
15
16
17
Tract A

5,369.7
5,368.8
5,368.8
5,368.9
5,368.9
5,369.1
5,368.6

5,370.2
5,370.2
5,370.2
5,370.2
5,370.2
5,370.2
5,369.3
