CERTIFIED MAIL
RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED

IN REPLY REFER TO:
Case No.: 01-08-417P

The Honorable Susan Thornton
Mayor of Littleton, Colorado
2255 West Berry Avenue
Littleton, CO 80165

Community: City of Littleton, CO
Community No.: 080017
Panels Affected: 0005 D and 0010 D
Effective Date of DEe 1 8 2001
This Revision:

102-D

Dear Mayor Thornton:

This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for Arapahoe County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas (the effective
FIRM for your community), in accordance with Part 65 ofthe National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
regulations. In a letter dated September 26,2001, P.E. ofWRC Engineering, Inc.
requested that FEMA revise the FIRM to show the effects of Brookhaven at Columbine Valley
Subdivision project along Drainageway D, Middlefield Road to Watson Lane.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from and
of Love & Associates, Inc.

We have completed our review ofthe submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM.
We have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of the flood having a
I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Drainageway D. As
a result of the modifications, the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be
inundated by the base flood, for Drainageway D decreased in the vicinity of Watson Lane. Revisions to
the FIRM include reducing the existing Zone X (shaded), the flood hazard zone used to designate areas
subject to inundation by the 0.2-percent-annual-chance flood. The modifications are shown on the
enclosed annotated copy of FIRM Panels 0005 D and 0010 D. This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR)
hereby revises the above-referenced panels of the effective FIRM dated September 29, 1989.

Because this revision request also affects the Town of Columbine Valley, a separate LOMR for that
community was i~sued on the same date as this LOMR.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panels as listed above and as
modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your
community.

A review of the determination made by this LOMR and any requests to alter this determination should be
made within 30 days. Any request to alter the determination must be based on scientific or technical
data.
