An estimated five inches of rain fell in a short time Wednesday afternoon <br />beginning at 3 p.m., which caused more than 100 rock and mud slides, some of which were six <br />feet deep, Masters said. <br /> <br />Workers were able to open one lane of traffic at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, permitting most <br />trapped vehicles to depart, he said.
