This product is generally issued once to twice daily, <br />regardless of forecasted conditions. <br /> <br />Short Term Forecast FPUS75 KBOU (BOUNOWBOU) <br />A synopsis and/or short-term (from the present time to over the next couple of hours) <br />forecast of meteorological conditions that are/will be impacting the area of interest. <br />This product is typically issued on an event-driven basis and may not be available at <br />any given time. <br /> <br />Advisories/Watch/Warning Products <br /> <br />Flood Watch FFABOU (WGUS65 KBOU) <br />Used to inform of current or developing conditions that pose a threat of flooding but <br />the occurrence is neither certain or imminent. <br /> <br />Flood/Flash Flood Warnings <br />1) Flood Warning FLWBOU (WGUS55 KBOU) <br />Issued when flooding of main stem rivers/creeks is occurring or imminent. Main <br />stem river/creek flooding refers to flooding of gaged and forecasted rivers/creeks. <br /> <br />2) Flash Flood Warning FFWBOU (WGUS55 KBOU) <br />Issued when flooding is reported; when precipitation capable of causing flooding is <br />observed by radar/satellite; when observed rainfall exceeds flash flood guidance or <br />criteria known to cause flooding; or when a dam or levee failure has occurred or is <br />imminent. A flash flood is defined as a flood caused by heavy or excessive rainfall in <br />a short period of time, and occurring generally within 6 hours of the causative event. <br /> <br />Flood/Flash Flood Statements FFSBOU (WGUS75 KBOU) and FLSBOU (WGUS85 <br />KBOU) <br />Follow-up statements to keep the public fully informed of the most current <br />information. Statements can be used to remove geographical areas covered by the <br />original Flood Warning when flooding is no longer a threat or has ended in that area. <br />Statements are not used to extend the length of time or add an area to a warning. In <br />those ,cases, a new Flood Warning will be issued. <br /> <br />Urban and Small Stream Advisory FSSBOU (FGUS55 KBOU) <br />Issued when minor widespread urban or flooding along small streams is occurring or <br />imminent. This type of flooding is generally an inconvenience and not life- <br />threatening. <br /> <br />Product Dissemination Methods <br /> <br />The methods by which the forecast/watch/warning products issued by the NWSFO-BOU <br />are disseminated include NWS National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration <br />(NOAA) Weather Radio (NWR), Emergency Managers Weather Information Network <br />(EMWIN), Internet (http://www.crh.noaa.gov/den/), local media using the Emergency <br />Alert System (EAS), Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) and Metropolitan <br />Telephone System (NWAS - METS). <br /> <br />11 <br />
